Analysis of several factors affecting the printing effect of water-based ink

2024-04-01

Water-based ink is an environmentally friendly ink with water as a solvent. Compared with solvent-based ink, it greatly reduces the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC), optimizes the operating environment of the printing workshop, and avoids environmental pollution and harm. At present, water-based ink is mainly used in flexographic printing and gravure printing. Due to its low toxicity, it occupies a considerable proportion in food packaging, pharmaceutical packaging, tobacco and alcohol packaging, children's toys and other packaging and printing fields. Recently, water-based ink has also been used in clothing printing. As a new type of "green printing material", the application of ink in the field of packaging and printing will be more and more extensive, therefore, the development prospect of water-based ink is quite promising, and the research and development of domestic high-grade ink is a top priority. This paper mainly discusses the main factors affecting the quality of water-based ink printing: ink fineness, viscosity, PH value, gloss, color concentration, drying speed and so on. fineness The fineness of water-based ink refers to the size of the pigment particles in the ink and the uniformity of the dispersion in the binder. It is usually completed in the process of producing ink paste. It is a very important quality index factor and directly affects the printing quality of ink. In the process of producing color paste, it is best to add dispersants and wetting agents, so that the fineness of ink to meet certain requirements. The fineness of the ink will not only have a certain impact on the tinting strength, hue and other properties of the ink, but also affect the rheology of the ink. Usually the fineness of the ink is better, the concentration is also The greater the color, the stronger the color, the higher the quality of the product printing. On the other hand, the fineness of the ink is low, the pigment particles are coarse, the friction coefficient is large in the printing process, and the printing rate of the printing plate is low. And coarse particles of ink, in the printing dot pattern, easy to cause dot edge hair or emptiness, and may lead to paste plate, ink accumulation and ink transfer, ink distribution of uneven ills; but if the ink particles are too fine, the ink flow is too large, will cause dot expansion, will also affect the printing quality. Fineness according to GB/T13217.3-91 detection, general ink fineness in 5~25 microns. Viscosity Viscosity is the most important control indicator factor in water-based ink applications and is a property that prevents fluid flow. Since the viscosity directly affects the transfer and printing quality of the ink, it is very important to control the viscosity of the ink. In the printing process, the viscosity of water-based ink will affect: ink on the substrate spread, dot expansion rate, image gradation level of reproducibility, print color strength and so on. The viscosity of water-based ink is too low, it will cause the ink to produce a slow expansion before drying, or cause ink Uneven spreading leads to uneven ink film, resulting in low gloss, light color, dot expansion, uneven ink transfer and other ills. However, if the viscosity of water-based ink is too high, the transfer performance of ink will be poor, and it will be difficult to transfer to the printing plate during printing, resulting in poor color strength of printed matter, and at the same time, dirty version, paste version and other ills will easily occur. Viscosity according to GB/T13217.4 detection, domestic commonly used coated 4# cup to measure viscosity, is a more convenient and accurate detection method. Generally, the viscosity is controlled at about 20 "(coated with 4# cups), the viscosity of ordinary ink is generally 50" ~ 65 "/25 ℃ (coated with 4# cups), and the viscosity of high-grade ink is controlled at 25" ~ 35 "/25 ℃ (coated with 4# cups). In a specific application, the size of the viscosity control must also be determined according to the condition of the substrate and the type of equipment and the printing speed. The faster the speed, the smaller the viscosity should be. Printing line products, in order to ensure the clarity of the dot, the viscosity can be slightly larger; and printing field products, the viscosity should be smaller, making the ink layer spread better.

From the point of view of printing methods, water-based inks are currently not applicable to offset printing, and their most important applications are flexographic printing and gravure printing. 1. Application in the field of flexo printing: We know that most flexo printing and gravure printing products are packaging products, among which food packaging, tobacco and alcohol packaging, children's toys and other sanitary conditions require strict packaging prints account for a considerable proportion. Therefore, New printing materials are urgently needed, and adaptive inks will undoubtedly become one of the best choices. Under the impact of the wave of "green revolution" around the world, flexo printing has developed rapidly. The main reason is that most of flexo printing uses water-based ink, which has excellent environmental performance and conforms to the development trend of modern packaging printing. In the United States, 95% of flexo products use water-based inks. In Japan, 70% of flexo plates are used for corrugated board printing, of which 95% have used water-based inks. In our country, the proportion of flexo printing is increasing day by day. 2. Application in Gravure Printing Field: Water-based Gravure Printing Ink was widely used in the printing of packaging paper and thick cardboard boxes in the 1970 s. As evaporation drying and absorption drying are better in paper printing, the drying problem of water-based ink is better solved and popularized earlier. In the United States, 80% of gravure printing materials use water-based ink. 3, in the field of screen printing applications: At present, a large number of countries have used water-based screen printing ink Sweden, Germany and the United States. Since the 1980 s, the world has developed fabrics, paper, PVC, PS, aluminum foil and metal net printed with light and matte water-based inks. The development speed of screen printing in China is very fast, but the development and popularization of screen printing water-based ink is slow. According to reports, China's printing materials such as paper and plastics have been applied to screen printing water-based ink and gravure, flexo printing water-based ink.

Nantong Inspection Enterprises VOCs Control Implementation

2019-08-22

After the typhoon, sunny and hot weather increased. Recently, the provincial meteorological observatory and environmental monitoring center continuously issued the ozone excessive warning information. According to the provincial forecast, when the 8-hour sliding average concentration of ozone in our city may exceed 148 micrograms/m3 from August 20 to 22, it is necessary to initiate emergency control measures for level II ozone pollution. On the 20th, sun Lixin, director of the municipal ecological environment bureau, took relevant personnel from the atmospheric department of the bureau and the law enforcement bureau to chongchuan district nanya plastic co., ltd., cosco shipping co., ltd., Zhenhua heavy equipment manufacturing co., ltd., sinochem Nantong petrochemical storage and transportation co., ltd. and other key enterprises to inspect the implementation of VOCs emission reduction measures. To carry out enhanced control of summer VOCs is to reduce the rate of ozone generation by significantly reducing local VOCs emissions when objective conditions are not favorable, so as to realize the "time-saving peak reduction" of ozone pollution, thus ensuring the continuous improvement of atmospheric environmental quality. According to the plan, enterprises with high VOCs (volatile organic compounds) emissions in our city should take effective measures to reduce VOCs emissions in accordance with the requirements of compulsory emission reduction and emergency control. The proportion of VOCs emergency emission reduction should not be less than 30%, and some enterprises should not be less than 50%. In the synthetic leather workshop of South Asia Plastic Co., Ltd., although the enterprise has taken measures to stop production of some production lines, the VOCs gas generated in the production process of its treatment section is directly discharged into the external environment through the draft system and has not been effectively treated. The inspection team immediately asked enterprises to face up to the existing problems, rectify them quickly and effectively, and do a good job in the replacement of clean raw materials and the construction of efficient terminal treatment facilities. If the problems are not corrected, they will be investigated and dealt with according to law. Nantong is a large shipbuilding industry city. According to the provincial monitoring data, the VOCs environmental data of Hongqiao station located in the downwind direction of COSCO Shipping Co., Ltd. are relatively high during the recent period of ozone exceeding the standard. During COSCO's shipping inspection, the inspection team found loopholes in the internal environmental management of the enterprise, aging facilities in the pretreatment workshop, and unsealed waste gas collection system. Some waste paint buckets at the edge of the paint spraying room were not placed according to the hazardous waste disposal requirements, and the odor was serious. Inspectors used portable VOCs detectors to give several alarms during on-site detection. Although the enterprise implemented the control requirements, the actual VOCs emission reduction ratio did not meet the requirements. In Zhenhua Heavy Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd., the inspection team found that although the outdoor spraying operation of the enterprise has been completely stopped, and the measures for stopping the painting room and pretreatment line wheel have been implemented, there are still problems such as direct discharge of outdoor welding waste gas and overflow of waste gas from the painting room. The inspectors hope that enterprises can demand themselves according to the standards of large state-owned enterprises and industry benchmarks, draw lessons from relevant cases, further strengthen the replacement of water-based coatings, improve the efficiency of collection and treatment, ensure the normal operation of environmental protection facilities, and properly solve the problem of unorganized emission of waste gas. In Sinochem Nantong Petrochemical Storage and Transportation Co., Ltd., the inspection team saw that the enterprise had responded positively to the requirements of Level II control, and the unloading time was adjusted to night, that is, from 18: 00 on the same day to 8: 00 on the next day. On-site inspection did not find the phenomenon of gasoline and diesel oil loading and unloading during the day. The inspection team checked the equipment status of oil and gas recovery pipelines, oil storage tanks, oil unloading points and other locations, and required companies to continue to cooperate with management and control requirements, and effectively meet emission reduction requirements on the basis of ensuring safety and protecting people's livelihood.
